Bale Making an Impact at Real Madrid
9 goals in his first 13 appearances has seen Gareth Bale make a very impressive start to his Real Madrid career, will it be enough to help them win a major trophy this year?
The £85 million transfer certainly piled on the pressure for him to perform, but that he has certainly done, and his perfect hat-trick at the weekend against Real Valladolid topped off a great couple of months for the Welshman.
There’s no denying that Cristiano Ronaldo is Madrid’s outstanding talent, and will lead the way in their trophy hunt in 2014, but Gareth Bale seems to be enhancing his Portuguese team mates talents’ even further. And with Ronaldo only a spectator on Saturday, Bale stepped up to fill his boots and help Real Madrid to move within three points of league leaders Barcelona.
Bale nodded in the opener after 33 minutes before setting up Benzema for the team’s second of the evening. He then grabbed a further two goals in the second half, one with either feet, to cap off the perfect performance and show that he is fully settled in in the Spanish capital.
