17-Year Old Raising Awareness for British Lung Foundation
This week at Challenge Trophies we’ve supplied medals for 17-year old Amber Amey who is running next year’s London Marathon on behalf of the British Lung Foundation in the hope of raising over £3,000 in memory of her granddad. Not only is this an exceptional challenge for a 17 year old to take on board, she is going the extra mile by organising fundraising events to reach her total, rather than relying on sponsorship alone.
The first event Amber has organised is a football tournament (at which we are supplying medals for the winners held on Wednesday 18th June from 12pm at Seevic College. It costs each team £10 to enter, and the winners will also receive paintballing tickets, which will surely encourage many teams to get involved, and therefore increase the donations. This is a great prize and a fantastic way for others to get involved, have fun playing sport, and raise money for a worthwhile cause.
Amber’s other plans for future fundraising in the build-up to the marathon include car boot sales, quiz evenings, raffles and auctions; all of which are an amazing effort by a young girl in memory of her granddad, and I’m sure it will be approached by the foundation themselves!
